While in Paris we had the opportunity to take a “Chocolate Walk” tour through the Saint Germain neighborhood. With our tour guide, who admits she has the coolest job in the world, we wandered to four different Chocolateries and got to taste delights at each one. Here, Hope shares about our chocolate edventure:
Our first chocolate shop was Hugo and Victor. We had a tea flavored chocolate and a pear flavored chocolate. The one I like the best was the tea flavored. I got a strawberry macaron there was sugar on it. (Lily LOVES macarons!)
We went to four different chocolate shops and here is one of them. This was done by a man who loves to sculpt. His name is Patrick Roger.
He likes to sculpt things in chocolate and he even made a room of chocolate. For example, the bed, and a man made out of chocolate was laying down on the bed.
And for his display in the front of the shop, it looks like an egg with a Santa hat on it and he also made chocolate boots. The whole thing is made out of chocolate!
We sampled chocolate at the sculptor’s place. We tasted two kinds, one was like the gelato we made but not cold. It was nutty with some almond and hazelnut.
The other one we tasted we did not like. It was basil and lime.
In the upstairs of his shop he had some of the sculptures he had created. One was a manta ray.
Another chocolate shop we visited was Henri Le Roux. He specialized in caramels. The one I liked the best was strawberry.
The last chocolate shop we went to was a restaurant and we ordered their hot chocolate. Their chocolate is made out of one third cocoa beans, one third milk and one third cream. It was delicious!
