It was on the shores of the Sea of Galilee that Jesus first called fisherman to follow him. Jesus’ ministry around the Sea of Galilee took him from the local synagogue where he experienced the spiritual life of the community, to the home of Simon and Andrew where he experienced the relationships within a new community.  Jesus taught as one who had authority and also healed people both spiritually and physically.

This panoramic photo tries to capture some of the beauty of this place.  We are staying at the German retreat center Pilgerhus Tabgha.  It is the location of Jesus’ miracle of feeding the 5000.  We are  looking forward to exploring around the Sea of Galilee this week.
