FALCONRY
Our girls love animals of all kinds, so we also stopped in to visit the Falconers shop at the Mary Arden Tudor Farm. Here is Hope’s latest Animal Adventure:
“The Kestrel was cute and was a really small bird for a falcon (one of the smallest in the Falcon family).
It had really sharp talons and also had a really sharp beak that was pointed. It never seemed to blink. My sister Joy caught one of its feathers when it flapped its wings. It’s feathers were very pretty — they had stripes.
I got to hold it with a big leather glove because the talons were very sharp.
My sister Joy got to hold a barn Owl, his name was Wesley, and he loved to bob his head.
He liked to squawk because he wanted food. He was only 10 weeks old. We got to hold the birds and take pictures with them and the guy told us about them.” — Hope
