I rode Icelandic Horses. My horse’s color was black and white. He was good because he followed the troop. His name was Tanco. He was friendly.
It was a beautiful ride through lava fields and the rocks were green because they were covered with moss. We saw tons of beautiful flowers. It rained while we were riding and it was very cold — when I got off the horse I was all wet and my fingers were freezing. But then I got to drink hot cocoa to warm up.
Icelandic Horses have 5 gates, and they are protected from getting sick. So Iceland doesn’t let other horses come into Iceland and if a horse leaves Iceland they can’t come back. My favorite thing about the horses is that they were so cute, fuzzy and fluffy. In the winter their hair gets really thick.
The ride was awesome! If you come to Iceland you should ride the horses!
We missed out on riding the horses when we were in Iceland, but enjoyed seeing them. Now I know what riding then is like. Thanks, Hope!
