Today we bid adieu to NYC and the US to begin our Edventure abroad.
It is now 1:53 am in Iceland and we are on the bus from the airport to our hotel.
It is rainy, cool, and “dusky” despite it being the middle of the night.
We are skirting the coastine on the way to Reykjavik. The rocky lava field terrain reminds me of the lava fields on the Big Iskand of Hawaii. There are few trees, but lovely purple Lupine along the roadway as we drive through “the town in the lava.”
We have one additional bus ride before we arrive at our hotel, but thankfully, our bodies are still in a “New York state of mind,” so it only feels like 10 pm.
We have purposely planned a day of rest tomorrow– perfect for slowly acquainting ourselves with Iceland!
